It is important that you read all of the following carefully before proceeding
Please note that any birth can be registered by the mother of the child(ren).
Please have your credit / debit card to hand where possible before continuing, to pay for certificates as part of the booking process. If you prefer you can pay for certificates during your appointment.
If the parents are:
- married to one another, or in a legal civil partnership, at the time of the birth then either parent can register the birth without the other parent being required to attend.
- not married or in a legal civil partnership to each other, at the time of the birth and the registration is to include both parents' details, then both parents must attend.
If you want the registration to include both parents' details, but one cannot attend; if you need to register a baby born more than 42 days ago, still born baby; you need to register the birth AND death of a baby, you need to re-schedule an appointment or you need to re-register a birth please contact us on 0345 045 1363 (Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm excluding Bank Holidays).
